In the last SCOVA meeting it was decided that all the 19 P&T dispensaries of 12 cities would be merged with CGHS. It is pertinent to point out that in Kolkata long long back there were P&T dispensaries and at present there is not a single P&T dispensary. Then my query is in respect of Kolkata what would be the stand of the Government. Since there is no existence of P&T dispensary in Kolkata, I hope it is open to the P&T employees and pensioners to take the CGHS benefit. A clarification in this regard is urgently needed.

In the upcoming meeting of SCOVA an item which is of utmost importance, i.e. regarding extension of CGHS facility to the Postal employees of greater Kolkata is required to be discussed. It is worth mentioning here that in Kolkata there is no P&T Dispensary. In the 21st meeting of SCOVA while it has been decided to merge 19 P&T dispensaries with CGHS dispensaries in 12 cities, then perhaps the non-availability of P&T dispensary in Kolkata has not been brought to the notice of the Organiser. A solution in this regard has therefore to be taken bringing all the Postal Pensioners under the purview of CGHS.
